Jewelry as self-expression

Posted on November 09, 2012 by Vicky Marsolais

I don’t know about you, but for me jewelry is an opportunity to express myself. An opportunity to show my individuality, express my creativity, mix things up a little. I love that the various pieces of jewelry that I own say a little bit about me. Not too much, but just a little. They offer a bit of a glimpse of who I am.

Have you ever noticed how the exact same outfit paired with different jewelry can make a completely different statement? And the pendulum can really swing. Take the classic little black dress, for example. Accessorize it with bulky, voluminous jewelry and it gives a bit of wild, creative, artsy, free look. That very same black dress with a delicate, simple strand around the neck gives a conservative, understated, demure look.

And most of us have these different sides of our personality that we want to express at different times depending on how we’re feeling or the particular circumstance.
